A Kaplan CPA was founded in 2010 on a simple premise: most business owners deserve more than a tax preparer. They deserve a strategic partner.

Aleksey founded A Kaplan CPA, P.C. in 2010 to bring institutional-grade tax strategy and CFO-level advisory to the business owners and professionals who had outgrown traditional accounting firms but were not yet served by Big Four advisory pricing.
A Certified Public Accountant licensed in both New York and Florida, he holds the triple distinction of Certified Tax Coach (CTC), Certified Tax Planner (CTP), and Certified Tax Strategist (CTS) — designations earned by a small minority of CPAs nationally and dedicated to proactive, year-round tax mitigation rather than reactive filing.
Before founding the firm, Aleksey served as President and CFO of a Brooklyn-based title insurance agency and as Executive Director and CFO of a multi-location childcare operation. That operator’s perspective — built from inside the businesses he now advises — is the foundation of how the firm approaches every engagement: as a partner who has sat in your seat.
He is a graduate of Brooklyn College, City University of New York, and serves clients across the United States from the firm’s Parkland, Florida office.
The principles that shape every engagement, every quarter, every decision we make on behalf of a client.
Year-round positioning — not April reactions.
Clean books, clean entities, defensible documentation.
Decisions that compound — valuation, succession, exit.
Alignment across attorneys, advisors, and insurance.
A limited client roster ensures personal attention.
Outcomes you can quantify, not vanity metrics.
Advice grounded in real business experience.
Quiet professionalism. Confidential by default.
We are deliberately not for everyone. Our practice is designed for owners, operators, and high-performing professionals who want a CPA relationship that operates more like a fractional CFO and trusted advisor than a once-a-year filing service.
Most of our clients run profitable operating businesses, hold multiple entities, own income-producing real estate, or are positioning toward a liquidity event. They expect proactive thinking, clean reporting, and a partner who returns calls.
Every relationship starts with a private consultation. We’ll review your current structure, identify inefficiencies, and determine whether our engagement model is the right fit.
